Culture is diverse ,it has the value of its existence and nation cultural features,so I think the Chinese New Year as the theme can better interpret personal culture.Identity has otherness and similarities,so I want to show where my identities have special characteristics from the similar identity.Equality between people is the main point of human rights,so I chose people with disabilities to reflect my thinking of human rights.Historical influence mainly reflects in the time and significant effects.Undoubtedly,humans first time to the moon is an influential event all over the world.
The first picture should display my personal culture,so I choose The Chinese New Year as the theme of the picture，it can provide an opportunity for people to join in the celebration,as well as in-depth knowledge of the Chinese culture(Frankcombe,2012).The Chinese New Year contains a lot of cultural characteristics.First,the word"New Year" have specific cultural meanings to Chinese,it denotes union for the family.During the Chinese New Year,each family members return to home,they sit together to share their experience,have dinner,watch fireworks and so on.In addition,there are a lot of cultural activities in the Chinese New Year,such as hang New Year's couplets,make dumplings,receive red envelopes and fire crackers,these activities are all convey harmony and happiness.Besides,the Chinese New Year is full of red color.Red lanterns,red firecrackers,red couplets and red window grilles.The red color means lucky and as one's wishes.
The second picture shows my identities.I chose a picture that I think it is more meaningful for me in New Zealand.This picture was taken at my first school in New Zealand.It shows me as a person who first time to New Zealand,as an international student and as new friend to others.The first year in New Zealand ,I was not familiar with all the people and things here,but teachers and classmates are very friendly,they were not only patient taught me to learn knowledge but also paid great attention to my life.Besides,they took me to participate in various activities and help me to solve a lot of problems in life,so I gradually familiar with this unfamiliar place and also made a lot of friends .During this year,I became sociable and enjoys being with others and also my life became more fulfilling.I felt integrated into them.
The third picture shows the rights of the disabled.The rights of disabled people is a very common but not ordinary human rights issue .Nowadays,although the rights of the disabled can get basic maintenance,in many places people with disabilities still face discrimination and unfair treatment.According to the report,there are 2270 people with disabilities without any services to help them(Anonymous,2005)For example,a lot of people with disabilities cannot integrate into main-stream schools.What's more,employment units are reluctant to hire people with disabilities.I think in today's society, in addition to using the law to safeguard the rights of the disabled,also popularize the equal rights in the grassroots,enterprises and schools.
The fourth picture I chose about humans first time to the moon to show its historical influences.Before humans first time to the moon,people were curious and fear to outside of the earth.With the development of technology and expanding the field of human exploration,humans first time to the moon meet the needs of people to explore unknown areas ,and also completed the dream of humans to the moon.It stated the exploration of outer space journey,inspired the enthusiasm of some countries and promote the development of science and technology.
